Our Teachers

Preschool Manager, Lead Preschool Teacher in the 4-5 year old classroom: Hi! I am Teacher Candice Tenorio, and I am excited to be one of your child’s Preschool Teachers. I received my AA and BS in Early Childhood Education from Western New Mexico University. I worked as a preschool teacher at WNMU for five years with students ranging in age from birth to 5 years old. Once I graduated, I worked as a kindergarten teacher for 1.5 years. Then I started my family: Momma to 3: Diego, Deidra. and David. I was a stay-at-home mom for almost ten years; I am a working momma of 3 and 4 bonus children, which I share with my boyfriend. While being a mom is my number one priority. I am also working on my Master’s Degree and living a hectic ranch life. I am so honored to be a part of this classroom community. Preschool is only the beginning of your child’s educational journey, and I hope to inspire them to learn to love but, most importantly, to love to learn!

Preschool Teacher for the 2-3-year-old classroom: Hi! I am Amanda Jo Vigil, and I am very excited to be your child’s preschool teacher and take on my new role as a lead teacher in a 2-3-year-old classroom. I have been the assistant teacher at LCC Preschool for the past year and a half. I am working on my AA in Early Childhood Education and hope to graduate this summer. I am also a mom to five exceptional children: four sons and a daughter. My kids are Orlando 17, Jacob 15, Emma 9, and my twin boys Armando and Marco, 4. I look forward to helping your child grow, play, make friends, and develop independence as we learn about the world around us.

Assistant Preschool Teacher: Hello, everyone! I am Kylee Moberg. I am super excited and fortunate to be the assistant teacher at LCC Preschool. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, graduating from Robertson in 2020. I recently graduated in May with my AA in Early Childhood Education and am working towards my BA. This position at the preschool allows me to provide for and give back to my entire community. I am thrilled to be here and can not wait to see all the great things your kiddos will accomplish this year!

Philosophy

Creating Opportunities for Children:

Here at Luna Community College Preschool, we strive to provide children ages 2-5 with exceptional early learning experiences in a safe, healthy, nurturing, and supportive environment that is developmentally appropriate for each child. We embrace and celebrate each child’s uniqueness and support individuality and creative thinking.

Location

We are located on the campus of Luna Community College, 366 Luna Drive, Las Vegas, New Mexico.

About our program

Welcome to the LCC Preschool. You have chosen a program licensed by the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) and rated by its FOCUS program. The preschool is a five-star FOCUS-rated childcare facility with the State of New Mexico.

In our program we value the individuality of each child! We work hard to provide the kind of education that not only nourishes the mind, but nourishes the whole child. We teach compassion for self, others, and environment. We utilize our outdoor space to plant and harvest fruits and vegetables that the children get to eat for snack. It’s not uncommon for us to bring animals in for the children to experience and learn about. We believe our community has much to offer our little ones and often go on mini-field trips to local places like the library, the fair, and other places, depending on what is going on in our community.
