Our Teachers
All teachers are certified and licensed through the state of New Mexico. Additionally, all teachers either have a bachelor’s degree or are working towards a graduate degree in early childhood education or special education.
Philosophy
Welcome to Brown Early Childhood Center (BECC). We are excited to offer our community’s children an opportunity to participate in our Pre-K early learning program and kindergarten. They will have many new and exciting experiences as they begin their educational journey. We will need your help in making this journey a successful time for your child. It has often been said that parents are their child’s FIRST teacher. However, we also believe that parents are their child’s only FOREVER teacher. While they move through the grades their teachers will change but YOU will be the one who will always be there to help them on the next pathway.

About our program
Brown Early Childhood’s highly qualified faculty and staff is committed to providing each student a strong foundation and love for future learning. Our mission is to provide learning opportunities for children in an engaging and active manner. Our teachers and paraprofessionals continually attend workshops, training, and collaborate often with one another in an effort to continuously improve our instructional delivery. Social, emotional, and physical development are equally important as intellectual development. Our faculty and staff strive to help children further develop and demonstrate respect and kindness for self and others, honesty, and overall strong character traits.
In kindergarten, we have a superior music program under the direction of a certified music teacher. Children attend music class 2-3 times per week. Students also participate in our computer lab and enjoy our kid friendly library. P.E. is provided 3 times per week per class. Our dual language program provides language learning opportunities for children learning English or Spanish as a second language.
Admissions
Preschool: If your child is 4 years old, or will be, by 12:01 A.M., September 1, 2024, please register online on ParentVUE. Space is limited.
Kindergarten: If your child is, or will be, 5 years old before 12:01 a.m., September 1, 2024, please register online on ParentVUE.
Please bring: After registering online, please bring your child’s immunization record and original birth certificate to Brown Early Childhood Center, 520 West 5th Street.
Kindergarten: If interested in Dual Language please stop by the office and fill out a registration form. Limited enrollment available! Because space is limited and the demand for participation is high, your child may be put on a waiting list for available openings to participate in this program.
