Philosophy

Our early childcare facility philosophy at Count Your Blessings Preschool embodies a child-led approach that nurtures exploration, experimentation, and learning, fostering independence and autonomy in each child. We provide a safe and inclusive environment that encourages developmentally appropriate activities, exploration, and discovery to facilitate learning for all children, regardless of ability. We believe in parents as primary educators and actively involve them in their child’s education.

When developing our curriculum, we prioritize the holistic development of each child, offering a learning program that includes literacy, numeracy, science, and social skills through a mix of independent exploration, teacher-guided activities, and hands-on learning experiences. We recognize that all children have an innate drive to learn, with play being the fundamental vehicle for their educational journey.

Our philosophy centers on empowering children to embody values such as Love, Joy, Peace, and Self-Control while nurturing a strong foundation for their growth. We believe in educating the whole child across spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, creative, and physical domains, tailoring curriculum based on individual interests and learning styles.

Through the Authentic Observation, Documentation, and Curriculum Process (AODCP), we ensure intentional teaching practices that align with Early Learning Guidelines (ELG’s) to track progress, plan meaningful activities, and support children’s ongoing learning. We maintain open communication with parents, sharing assessment information and setting goals collaboratively during parent-teacher conferences.

Our inclusion policy underscores our commitment to supporting children with diverse needs, offering modifications for individualized curriculum and programming in partnership with families. By promoting social-emotional development and essential social skills, we prepare children for success in personal, social, school, and work relationships.
