Our Teachers
Our teachers are trained in child development, and are dedicated to helping your child grow academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. We strongly believe that knowledge is the key to success. Therefore, our teachers are required to take college level courses in Early Childhood/Multicultural Education every year to fulfill the required training and education. They must become certified in CPR and First Aid and submit and clear a New Mexico State fingerprint and background Check. Here at Sunshine Kids, we strive for excellence and provide you, as a parent or guardian, a safe learning environment for your child, with a staff of well trained, caring, loving and inspiring teacher who will care for your child.
Philosophy
The Sunshine Kids Preschool and Childcare Center is a state licensed, nonprofit, child-centered learning environment providing age-appropriate education in a nurturing atmosphere that is designed to foster spiritual, cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth. We believe that children learn best through play. Our philosophy incorporates play as a natural tool toward teaching and learning. By allowing children to explore their environment and ask open ended questions, we pave the path to becoming independent individuals and gain the skills needed to grow. We value each child’s exploration of culture and include this in our curriculum as well.

About our program
Our center is Faith based but we teach the concepts of math, science, engineering, art social sciences and early literacy through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas for the children as a jumping off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their own investigation and draw their own conclusion whenever possible.
