Our Teachers

Our Director has been working with children for 32 years. She loves learning from little ones, what they need and what they are passionate about. Children are her passion and she enjoys fostering their growth every single day.

All of our teachers are CPR certified and participate in annual trainings as well as trainings for new curriculum to bring the most cutting-edge education and care.

Philosophy

Noah’s Ark is a non-profit Christ-centered facility where children of diverse cultures may come to grow in the wisdom and Spirit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that Christian moral and spiritual values are taught in the ABeka curriculum and are interwoven throughout each day’s activities in an age-appropriate manner. We believe infants and toddlers need to develop warm, supportive relationships with adults who are responsive to their individual needs. They learn primarily by using their senses and their bodies to discover and experiment. We believe pre-school children learn best through concrete, hands-on experiences with objects, the natural environment, and people. We believe children need to have play and art to freely express their emotions and creativity. We provide a variety of materials and resources such as art supplies, dramatic play articles, blocks, balls and toys which promote problem-solving techniques and independence. We believe it is important for Kindergarten and school-aged children to be challenged and encouraged. Staff members assist them with their homework, if desired, and give multiple opportunities to socially interact with their peers. We believe the partnership with school and family is important. We strive to develop the basic concepts that form the foundation for literacy: reading, writing, math, science, social studies, fine arts, and health. Together we work with the families to create those skills that are necessary to their future.

Location

We are located in the First Church of Nazarene building, next to the J. Kenneth Smith Bird Santuary and Nature Center.
