Our Teachers
Our pre-k teachers are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education and licensed through the state of NM Public Education Department. As a pre-k teacher. our education assistants are required to have a New Mexico public education licensure and either have completed their Associate’s degree or pass the state test. All staff are required to participate in all of they pyramid trainings required by the state. We have about 25 years of combined experience working with children.
Philosophy
We believe children learn best through play. Therefore, we will address the total developmental need of our students with the “learning through play” philosophy. Our instruction will include physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs, healthcare, nutrition, safety, and multi-cultural sensitivity.
Location
The administrative office is across from City Hall and off the plaza.
About our program
The mission of the Taos municipal schools NM pre-k classrooms is to provide our community with access to voluntary, quality NM pre-k programs and services. We will provide developmentally appropriate activities for our pre-k students to advance their development and increase their school readiness. We offer full inclusion programs for special education.
