Philosophy
The May Center for Learning embraces a Montessori approach for Early Childhood, tailored to cater to students with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and language processing disorders. Our nurturing environment is specially designed for younger students, providing a small class size with a teacher to student ratio of 1 to 4. We prioritize oral language development, pre-reading skills, cooperative play, and regular field trips. Daisy Guranich, New Mexico’s 2017 Montessori Teacher of the Year, leads our Montessori Approach and offers valuable feedback to parents on their child’s growth and development.
About our program
The May Center for Learning is the only school in New Mexico specializing in the education of children with learning differences from early childhood through 8th grade.
Our evidence-based curriculum includes elements of traditional Montessori practice, and all of our teachers are certified in Multi-Sensory Structured Literacy(™) through the Shelton School in Dallas, the largest school for students with learning differences in the world.
